Opportunity Assessment Opportunity assessments are studies that take up to one week to identify areas of need. The focus can be on operations, asset utilization, technology or organizational dynamics. Existing practices and levels of execution are examined and compared to performance expectations. The assessments provide a template for improvement initiatives throughout the targeted areas and will include both short term and long term solutions. Tactical Assessment: Short term opportunities typically include methodology, space utilization, inventory slotting, product flow-facility layout, capacity, information flow, line leadership and procedural integrity. Strategic Assessment: Long term solutions can include leadership development/organizational structuring, asset based solutions; MHE/fixtures, technology/software applications and facility improvements or changes. With the goal of identifying opportunities for increasing productivity, reducing expenses and improving overall performance, the opportunity assessment will concentrate on a specific set of issues or it will involve a broader scope.
